Summertime is right around the corner! Fort Worth has an amazing amount of options for Summer Camps for children of all ages. Listed below are a few of my favorite options around town. Beat the heat and sign up for these wonderful opportunities while there is still availability.

Alley Cats & Putt Putt Camp For The Fun Of It!

We’ve combined all the fun of Putt-Putt and Alley Cats with a fully licensed Summer Camp program. We call it CAMP FORTHEFUNOFIT! Camps are held Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Kids Who Care Musical Theatre Camps

Kids from across Texas, the U.S., and abroad come to Kids Who Care’s unique musical theatre camps. By creating a summer performance experience for young artists in a professional venue, kids are exposed to the real life process of musical theatre. From the audition to opening night, Kids Who Care summer camps create powerful, life-changing experiences for ages 4 – 18.

Dates: One, two, and three week camps from June 6 – July 20

Kimbell Summer Camps

Look, listen, move, create, and collaborate! The Kimbell is calling all art and music lovers (ages 6–12) for a fun-filled week exploring how artists of all kinds inspire each another. Each afternoon, campers will learn how great European masters like Picasso, Matisse, Klee, and Kandinsky found inspiration in other art forms like music, dance, and poetry. Guest performers and daily studio-art projects in different media will inspire connections with early 20th century art movements and individual creativity. Camp Champions

The Camp Champions Advantage: Campers succeed in college, career, and life (while having the time of their lives with counselor-heroes). Camp Champions is a traditional, residential summer camp in the ideal location on Lake LBJ in Marble Falls, Texas and provides the perfect place to spend a summer!

An exciting, weeklong summer adventure for K-6th graders awaits with activities that explore connections between science, technology, engineering and innovation. A nonprofit program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame®, Camp Invention allows children to experience real-world problem solving, creative thinking, invention, and teamwork. Beginning in 1999, iD Tech, a family company, began reinventing “camp” for the 21st century. NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation Summer Camps

To introduce kids to the game of golf, the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation teams up with local golf courses and facilities to conduct week-long summer golf camps. Kids learn full swing fundamentals, putting, chipping, bunker play, rules, etiquette, and safety. This summer, it will be conducting 69 camps at 15 locations across DFW. The cost of each camp is $275, which includes PGA professional instruction, custom fit clubs, tees and golf balls, and FREE golf course access to select courses throughout the summer. All camps are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Sports Broadcasting Camp

Have you ever dreamed of calling a last second game winning shot? Well now is your chance. Boys and girls ages 10-18 can learn from the pros at sports broadcasting camp. Make sports anchor, reporting, and play-by-play tapes. Host your own sports talk radio and PTI style shows. Meet sports broadcasting celebrities. Participate in sports trivia contests, and much more!

River Legacy’s Summer at the Science Center

River Legacy Living Science Center has a variety of weeklong summer classes in June and July that are sure to beat those summertime boredom blues (and your students may even learn something too)! Age-appropriate classes for preschoolers to elementary students explore wildlife, science, ecology, and the environment.

Outdoor Adventure Camps for grades K-6 provide tons of outdoor fun all in the setting of the best classroom on Earth – NATURE! A NEW Extreme Outdoor Adventure for grades 7th and 8th will have your students kayaking, hiking, and spending the night at the Science Center with a cooked campfire meal.

Dates: Weeklong camps June 12-30 and July 10-28

T Bar M Camps

Camp is one of the most lasting, rewarding experiences parents can give their children. At T Bar M, it builds self-esteem and gives kids a sense of independence all while growing their faith. From overnight camp for 1st through 11th graders, to Day Camp for K-5th graders, T Bar M loves to give campers and families the experience of their lives.

Dates: Ten week-long sessions throughout the summer starting May 28

YMCA Camp Carter

Situated on 350 acres along the Trinity River, you’d never guess that YMCA Camp Carter is just minutes from downtown Fort Worth, with easy access to I-820 or I-30. Once here, campers play, enjoy meeting new friends, and build deep bonds. Activities like archery, team building, canoeing, swimming, and even horseback riding are just an adventure away! Overnight camp is for ages 7-16, with weekly sessions running from Sunday afternoon until Friday evening. Cabins are climate controlled with lots of supervision with well-trained staff. Day camp is also available Monday – Friday for ages 5-12.

Dates: June 4 – August 18
