Otsukimi Moon Viewing Celebration at Klyde Warren Park
Saturday, October 15: 7:00pm
Cost: Free
Bring the family out this weekend to celebrate the full autumn moon at Klyde Warren Park with an outdoor picnic, tea ceremony, calligraphy, ikebana demonstrations, and haiku poetry. Also enjoy a variety of Japanese music and dance performances, along with sky-gazing and moon activities, and a rabbit petting zoo with The Bunny Burrow Rabbit Rescue. Presented in partnership with the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Bands on the Bricks Music Series
Wednesday, October 19th and October 26th
Cost: Free
Visit Sundance Square Plaza to enjoy live music every Wednesday in October. The free concerts begin at 6 p.m. and wrap up at 7:30. Beer and wine are available for purchase at an outside bar on the Plaza.

South Street Art Festival in Downtown, Arlington
Friday, October 14: 4:00-10:00pm
Cost: Free
Eighty local, regional and national artists will be selling quality, affordable art work at the 4th annual South Street Art Festival. Artists’ booths will line both sides of South Street (between Mesquite and East Streets) in downtown Arlington. The festival debuts a new Craft Beer Garden this year and a live music stage will be located at South and Mesquite Streets. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are permitted. Admission and parking are free.

Friday – Scant (’80s cover band), 8-9:30 p.m.
Saturday – Bad Moon Rising (Credence Clearwater tribute) 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch (blues), 8-9:30 p.m.

16th Annual Fall Round-Up at Nash Farm
Saturday, October 15: 10:00-2:00pm
Cost: Admission is free, Some activities require a participation fee
Experience life on the farm at the 16th Annual Fall Round-Up at Grapevine’s historic Nash Farm. Admission is free but some activities require a participation fee. Activities include kitchen gardening, live music, farm animals, blacksmith and wood carving demonstrations, cotton picking, heritage toys, heritage games, wood-burning stove cooking demonstrations, petting zoo and more. Concessions will be available for purchase at the event.
19 Annual Butterfly Flutterby at Grapevine Botanic Gardens
Saturday, October 15: 10:00-2:00
Cost: Free
Bring the entire family, even your pets, to celebrate the migration of the monarch butterfly from Canada to Mexico by way of Grapevine. The 19th Annual Butterfly Flutterby is a free, family-friendly event and will be held at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. Butterfly releases will take place at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Grapevine Botanical Gardens.
The day begins with a Butterfly Costume Parade that starts at East Wall and Jenkins Streets. Registration for the Costume Parade begins at 8:45 a.m. Pets are welcome to participate. The Costume Parade begins at 10 a.m. in the lot at East Wall and Jenkins Streets and ends at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. There will be prizes awarded for best costume in different age groups.
After the parade, participate in butterfly crafts, butterfly exhibits, the Migration Station, interactive games, a scavenger hunt, face painting and other activities in the Botanical Gardens. Refreshments are available for purchase.
Dallas Videofest 29 Opening Night Simulcast at Klyde Warren Park
Tuesday, October 18, 2016: 8:00pm
Cost: Free
Enjoy a live simulcast of the opening night of Dallas VideoFest 29, which will be taking place inside Dallas City Performance Hall. The opening night program includes a screening of the 1927 silent film Sunrise, accompanied by the Dallas Chamber Symphony performing a world premiere musical score. The simulcast is free. Park guests are welcome to bring a blanket and picnic.
The evening is also the start of the 5th season of the Dallas Chamber Symphony. The musical score is by composer Joe Kraemer, whose film credits include Jack Reacher and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.
